OPEN HOUSE: Harriet Tubman Day Celebration
Celebrate Harriet Tubman Day!
Join us to remember the remarkable life of Harriet Tubman, who fled from the Eastern Shore of Maryland on September 17, 1849. Tubman not only escaped to freedom on the Underground Railroad, she risked that freedom repeatedly by returning to Maryland to lead others out of bondage.
First founded at Button Farm in 2017, Tubman Day reveals the life of Harriet through hands-on activities for visitors of all ages.
SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT: The afternoon’s program includes a special announcement of an upcoming program ahead of our 2023 season, so come out with your family and friends and join us for the big “reveal!”
Saturday Open House
Come explore the farm each week during our public hours of visitation. Take the Self-Guided Tour of our farm’s Museum Garden, Animal Pens, Historic Outbuildings and exhibits. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon.
